At Delyn Pottery, every piece begins the same way - with hands in clay,
the whir of a throwing wheel and the particular hush of a Welsh morning.
Delyn Pottery is an independent pottery rooted in West Wales, making handmade home and kitchenware that carries something of this place in every curve and brushstroke. The hills, the hedgerows, the light on the water, the slow rhythm of the seasons - all of it finds its way into what I make.West Wales has a way of slowing you down - the landscape demands it. Rolling countryside, wild coastline, ancient fields and valleys steeped in memory. This landscape isn't just where I work. It's what I see, what I feel, what I reach for when I'm deciding on a colour, a shape, a glaze. The Maker
Ruth Lewis studied ceramics at the Carmarthen School of Art before establishing
Delyn Pottery in the heart of rural Carmarthenshire.

Delyn - the Welsh word for harp, speaks to something melodic and unhurried.Pottery, like music, rewards patience. It asks you to slow down, to listen, to pay attention to what you're making and why. That's the spirit behind every piece that leaves this studio. The Delyn Pottery studio sits on a hillside above Pencader - a small village surrounded by open farmland, wooded valleys and the kind of quiet that lets you think clearly and work slowly. That environment is not incidental - it shapes every piece. The Work
All Delyn Pottery ceramics are hand-thrown on the potter's wheel and hand-painted in the studio - pieces made to be used, not stored.

The best way to experience Delyn Pottery's work is in person.Come and handle the pieces, feel the weight of a mug in your hand, see the colours up close. There is something about holding a handmade pot that no photograph can ever quite capture.I regularly attend craft shows and events across West Wales, spending time with customers, selling directly from my collection. Whether you are a long-time collector or picking up your first piece of handmade pottery, you are always welcome at the Delyn Pottery stand.Upcoming Events
